INFORMATIVE BREAKFAST FORUM: DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING IN THE WORKPLACE!

“Drug and Alcohol Testing in the Workplace” is the topic of a special program being presented by Occupational Health Services of Portsmouth Regional Hospital.  The event is scheduled for Monday, October 29, 2007, from 8:00 a.m., to 11:00 a.m., in the hospital classrooms. This program was created to educate business owners, managers and safety directors.  A panel of professionals will address legal, medical and practical questions on the subject. There is no cost to attendees and breakfast will be provided.

All across America, large corporations to small businesses are implementing drug-free workplace programs to ensure productive and safe environments, because substance abusers are 33 percent less productive. They are also 4 times as likely to hurt others or themselves. They are 5 times as likely to sue for compensation and 10 times more likely to miss work chronically.

Presenters will include:

  • Attorney J. Kirk Twombley who will discuss “Legalities of Testing in the Workplace”
  • Steve Piwowarski and Ronald Liberty of the US Department of Transportation who will discuss “DOT Regulations & Compliance”
  • Donovan Albertson, MD, FACEP who will discuss “Interpreting and Reporting Results”
  • Sharon Sleis, LPN, Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator for OHS will discuss “The Process”

Space is limited! Please RSVP to Cindy Clark at 603-430-9675 ext.115 or email her at cindy.clark@hcahealthcare.com
